We started this adventure 22 years ago, when Costa Rica did not yet know about the richness of its natural treasures, when Costa Rica didn't dare to venture inside the heart of its rivers and mountains. When the Sarapiquí River was just another road to arrive somewhere, but without any special ecological perspective for the visitor.
  
We started to work in the Sarapiquí river zone, when traveling by the San Juan River was a political and ecological adventure, because we had to negociate with the Sandinists for the righ to travel by the River, to have their permission to cross its magnificent waters, always going after the flying of birds, after the shadows of the trees, after the strong music of the tropical rains…
  
Our former President, Oscar Arias, was not yet The Nobel Peace Price winner, and only a few foreigners have their vacations at our beautiful beaches, but nobody knew of the magnificent richness of the Costa Rican forests.We started to offer all of this in our lodge in Sarapiquí, at the end of the 80's.
We were real pioneers in the region.!
There were not so many bridges as there are now, no good roads like now, not as many people working together like now!
During all this time, we have gained much experience and love for this area of Sarapiquí, sharing our achievements with other colleagues, and watching the rapid development of this beautiful region, which offers a wide variety of activities.
